Thank you for this beautiful reminder, Rey, that "What next?" isn't the first question to consider.

Good self, reflection, Rey. I get it.

In a recent personal bout of melancholy I discovered Orthodox Bishop Tikhon of Zadonsk. His focus on creating/honoring/restoring Beauty (vs beauty) as the salve that redeems, truly inspires one to consider the call to humanity when in the midst of a breakdown. If Saints are the models set forth for us as examples, Ol' Tikhon is the Poster Boy of healed melancholy. Check him out, you might find him reassuring as he gets it too.

Thank you for sharing this, Tia Tere! From my heart to yours, I'm sorry about both of our bouts of melancholy. I'm eager to read how Bishop Tikhon advises us to move forward with compassion.

Thanks for sharing this Rey. It is encouraging to hear from people that are actively looking for positive and constructive ways to deal with the very strong emotions many of us are dealing with at this time. As someone who has found themselves to be on the losing side of many elections, I try and take heart by looking at those people that are on the opposite side and reminding myself that some of these are friends and family. These friends and family are not evil and they are certainly not dumb. This helps me keep (over)reactions in check gives me some hope that not all is lost.
