Hi, I’m Rey!

You’ve just entered The Labyrinth—a space of wandering, of curiosity, and of discovery. 🌀

At The Labyrinth, I share insights from the world's contemplative traditions. This isn't religion. For millennia, contemplatives have operated within or without religious frameworks and sought truth within themselves—with a remarkable amount of overlap in what they found.

I'm an unusual blend of scholar-practitioner: I read voraciously, but I practice diligently. I think the insights I arrive at are unique. But more importantly, I believe the wisdom that emerges from contemplative life isn't just for contemplatives. It can help all people live ordinary daily lives with more grace, peace, love, clarity, and wisdom—and I want to share those insights freely.

Right now, I'm in the middle of a six-essay series called The Art of Emptiness, where I'm demystifying the most transformative, but also most misunderstood, teaching from Mahayana Buddhism. I plan to publish these essays as part of a book soon, so this is a great time to read them, ask questions about them, and help form them while they're freely accessible.

P.S. Right now, I have a small but passionate group of readers who often tell me these essays are changing how they see, relate, and live. These are the kind of pieces people read multiple times—and often find something new with each return. If you know someone who might resonate, sharing The Labyrinth helps these essays find their way to the people who need them. Every piece is offered freely, and that’s how I want to keep it.
